Just a Collection of Exchanges

I know I have already published these before in Facebook, but I just thought of compiling them here so that I will remember.

1. We were at the Burgos Market one evening and Dindin saw a bunch of alugbati. She pointed to it and said “cilantro.” hahaha She knows that?

2. One day, I was really irritated and frustrated with her because she obviously does not want me to work. Whenever I would sit on my chair to work on my lappy, she would call out to me. So I asked her,

Mama: You don’t want me to work?
Dindin: No.
Mama: If Mama will not work, you won’t have dede. You won’t dede anymore?
Dindin: No.
Mama: Are you sure?
Dindin: Don’t worry about it.

ahhhh Does she really understand what she’s talking about?

3. I was working on my computer at another time when Dindin called out to me while running. So she was huffing and puffing. She offered me a spoon with imaginary food from her toy plate. I accepted it and said, “Yum!” Then I asked, “What is it?” Dindin replied, “It’s a spoon and a plate.” Sigh, why am I taking her seriously? hahahaha

Witticisms

Happy New Year everyone! This is my first post for 2011. I just thought of writing down Dindin’s recent talk.

**********

One time, while Dindin and I were walking from the car towards the door, she suddenly started talking and as I made out what she was trying to say, this is what she said:

“Beautiful, Mama…beautiful, Papa…Beautiful, Dindin…”

Okay, forever hold your violent reactions here but this child was never taught to say that. I guess she just has good taste. hahaha Well, to summarize what she said, we are just a beautiful family. And I hope nobody will hold that against us. hahaha

**********

One time, while we were in the car, Dindin said:

“Papa Dennis, Mama Boots. In Jesus’ Name…Dindin.”

Okay, go figure.

**********

While her paternal grandmother, whom she calls A-ma (Chinese for grandmother), was drinking water, Dindin walked up to her and said:

“A-ma is drinking.”

So, okay, she can now use the present continuous form of the verb?

**********

When she saw her Papa and her grandfather, Dindin said:

“Papa and Angkong…Hi.”

So she uses conjunctions.

**********

Dindin was playing with her battery operated toy on our bed and I was lying down beside her with my eyes closed. She wanted to turn on the toy so she said, “Open, open, please.” Because I did not budge, she glanced at me and said, “Mama, sleepy.” Then she shouted, “Papa!” hehe

**********

And well, Dindin kept greeting everyone a “Happy New year” too. :-D

New Conversations

Dindin: Pretty…Mama. Pretty gid ya!

**********

When she wakes up and in her husky voice:

Dindin: Morning, angel … *referring to an angel chime dangling from our ceiling.

**********

When she was fussing…

Mama: Dindin, you are a happy baby. Hap-py ….ba-by! What is Dindin gani? Happy…???

(while still crying Dindin replied…)

Dindin: Bertday…Nanay…

**********

Mama: We are going to the birthday party of Bella.

Dindin: Umbrella??

**********

I was carrying two grocery bags and two shoulder bags on one side while I carried Dindin on the other side. When we went inside our room, I accidentally hit her pile of toys, making so much noise.

Dindin: Uy! Ano to?

**********

We wanted to put her to sleep, she wanted to watch video. She asked for Elmo but we played the Lullabies by Baby Einstein with music by Brahms. Dindin watched for a while then said,

Dindin: I want Elmo.

**********

When we are carrying her and she wants to go down:

Dindin: Down me na. (nicla! or jejemon?)
