Kim Kardashian Barbie? Oh No!

There are rumors circulating that the famous toy company Mattel will be producing Kardashian Barbies based on the infamous Kardashian sisters–Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe.

Unlike the very slim Barbie, the Kardashian dolls will reportedly follow the measurements of their real-life counterparts and reflect their usual style. Mattel does not want to comment on the matter.

The issue became hot when Kim tweeted this statement on Christmas Day: “Merry Christmas Barbs @BarbieStyle! Long time no see! What did Ken get you for Chrsitmas? Miss you doll!” And there was a response. “I’m sure we will be seeing lots of each other! Shopping soon! Xo RT@BarbieStyle: Happy Doll-idays to you to @KimKardashian! See you in 2012?”

To be blunt about it, no, I will not be buying a Kim Kardashian doll or any of her sisters for Dindin. Kim had been involved in a lot of scandals, such as explicit photos, a sex tape with her ex-boyfriend Ray J and her short-lived married to NBA player Kris Humphries that reportedly made Kim richer by $17 million. Needless to say, she is nowhere in my list of personalities that I would want my daughter to emulate.

Why would Mattel event think of such a thing? I mean if the reports are true, then where is their sense of social responsibility?

Mixi Chix–The New Dolls and Doll House

Mixi Chix dolls--from left to right, Lemon, Blueberry, and Raspberry

Dindin’s ninoy Philip was here last week for a visit and he brought home this nice gift for her–Mixi Chix! This is actually the first time I met these girls so here is a primer about them. teehee

These are cute rubber or plastic dolls that when sprayed with water, they stick together. The dolls actually came as separate parts–the body along with the blouse is one part, the pants are another part, while the shoes are also another. The head is a moving part so they are still interchangeable.

So if you prefer, you can play with them as different pieces and just mix and match them together. But after a while, we got tired and so we sprayed water on them to make them stick and become three distinct dolls. Here are their names–Lemon (yellow hair), Blueberry (blue hair), and Raspberry (dark pink hair).

They came with a doll house and furniture as well as a glitter shower. You can put the girls one by one in the glitter shower, spray them with water, and then “shower” them with glitters! That would make them extra sparkly. The furniture came with beads of different colors. You have the option of beautifying the fixtures in the house with these beads. All we have to do is to spray water on the surfaces and the beads will stick on them.

The set comes with an atomizer that we can fill up with water. But once the items are stuck, they are permanent, or at least that’s what we think because separating them is not in the instruction.

Anyway, we are just playing with the dolls and the dollhouse now but I decided to keep the beads and the glitter until Dindin is old enough to assemble them herself. For now, we are enjoying the dolls and the fixtures. Dindin especially likes the potty, where she also lets her Tinkerbell doll do her peepee and poopoo. haha

I have not seen Mixi Chix here yet. Ninoy Philip lives in Singapore and has brought it from there. Thank you, Ninoy Philip!

Doctor Barbie and Our Colorful Puzzle

PhotobucketLast night we were at SM for their SMAC Sale. It was just timely that Lolo Tito sent us money for Dindin’s Barbie. You see, I remember that when I was still a child, it was my Tito Nene who bought me my first Barbie Doll, which turned out to be my last as well. It was just way toooooo expensive for my parents to buy one for me.

But for Dindin, I never really got interested in buying one for her until I saw that there is a Barbie series called, “I can be a…” There are two dolls that I am interested in, and that is is the “I can be a doctor Barbie” and “I can be a Ballerina teacher.” That is because of all professions, Dindin is always pretending that she is a doctor. And she also pretends that she is a ballerina. So I asked Lolo Tito if he could also give one to Dindin and he agreed! Yey! He sent us the money and it was so timely since there was a discount last night, we were not only able to buy the “Doctor Barbie”, we also got four of those shape sorter cubes.

You would think that Dindin is already quite old for the shape sorter because by now, she can already recognize and say shapes like “trapezoid” and “hexagon” very clearly. But because I did not get just one but four of them it became an entirely different game. We connected all the pieces and I came up with that tubular thing.

But then I let Dindin play with it for awhile and when I looked around at her, she disassembled everything and started making a mat shape. With her grandma, they made the arrangement below. hihi Well, this is already a short family time.

Thank you very much Lolo Tito for sponsoring these stuff for Dindin! Greatly appreciated! Dindin is really happy with them!
