Future Chef?

future chef in the makingDuring Dindin’s second birthday last March, she got a gift certificate to Robinsons Department Store from one of her ninangs and we decided to use it to get Dindin this pink kitchen set. When this photo was taken, it was her first time to play with this set. After several hours of pushing and pulling this rather mobile kitchen set around the room, I saw her wearing her pink shorts over her head like a chef’s hat! hahaha Wherever did she get the idea??? Is this my future chef?

Dindin is really interested in cooking. From when she was months old, I would bake cookies or cook simple dishes while carrying her on one arm. During all those times, Dindin would watch me intently, not bothering me at all. But when she became bigger and too heavy for me to keep holding in one arm, I would leave her to the care of our helper while I cooked. Now, she is already Mama’s helper. Look at her mix our cake batter below. She is actually standing on a chair in order to be able to reach the table. :D

I will be really happy if Dindin turns out to be a much better cook than I am. You see on my Nanay’s side of the family come some really good cooks. So if Dindin wants to pursue a career in the culinary arts, we hope that we can support her all the way.

She has several cooking playsets now, including those vegetables with velcro in the middle so that you can actually “slice” them using a plastic knife. Do you remember her Pink Table Setting in my other blog last time?

Chef Din2x Lo! Has a nice ring to that……. No problem with the Culinary Arts, just expose her early in life to real life kitchen prep and find some cooking shows on youtube or buy some fun recipe books for children. Next project ni tita ton. Promise! =0)
